Kendall grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and attended college at the University of New Mexico. She graduated with a dual degree in international studies and political science with an emphasis on the politics of poverty and inequality. After college Kendall moved to Summit County and became the hiring manager at a local ski resort. She was faced with the housing crisis that most mountain towns are coming to know very well as she tried to hire and retain employees. She fought to increase wages for employees to increase the likelihood of employees being able to find local housing options.

After being in Colorado for two years Kendall moved to Montana to pursue a job in the outdoor education field and soon faced the same housing crisis - just now in a new mountain town, Whitefish. She has seen time and time again how the housing crisis in mountain towns has pushed out younger communities and how local businesses are struggling due to no staff. She wants to help maintain a thriving community and be part of the solution to the problem that Whitefish is faced with.

Kendall has not been able to find housing in Whitefish where she works and has to find other housing in the Flathead Valley. She has fallen in love with the Valley where she can pursue her hobbies which include backpacking, skiing, and fly fishing.
